A Gourd Present

So our 2015 attempts to grow pumpkins at the bottom of the garden failed spectacularly (too wet and too much shade). Never mind - these tabi brought gourd cheer to our Christmas day.

Happy days! Tah Kwyjibo.

Halloween Tricks

We rustled up a little magic and transmuted the New England Sugar Pies into ....pumpkin pie ta-dah!

We particularly like the addition of rum-soaked "squashed flies" and citrus in this pie recipe.

New England Sugar Pie

Not a spot on Mrs. Mulch's baby; we're ashamed to admit that we've been negligent in our duties to nurture our New England Sugar Pies. We planted them in pots and our holiday away meant that they were not properly fed and watered. We do hope though, that these gourds ripen enough for us to make a little Halloween treat.
