
Well thankfully no snow, ice storms or floods in Walthamstow, save for the frosting on the Christmas cake. Ye gods.
The joy of having the beds outside the backdoor is that we can nip out between squalls and pick the last of the summer produce: turnips for chicken and cider stew with rosemary dumplings, a long-time steamy, soupy favourite perfect for keeping warm despite the buffeting winds and bucketing rain.
Batten the hatches!
