Nipped Out For a Turnip

The joy of having the beds outside the backdoor is that we can nip out between squalls and pick the last of the summer produce: turnips for chicken and cider stew with rosemary dumplings, a long-time steamy, soupy favourite perfect for keeping warm despite the buffeting winds and bucketing rain.

Batten the hatches!
